CET Sensitization

April 4, 2014

To all Stakeholders

As Mandated by CARICOM, it is the intention of the Grenada Customs & Excise Division to implement a new tariff, the 2012 CET, based on the HS 2012, in April 2014. It will replace SR&O #42 of 2009 that was based on HS 2007. This new Tariff will be in the same format as the one currently in use but includes some new breakouts introduced to account for items not subjected to the Value Added Tax. Also included are a few new headings. Added to identify new commodities now being traded. Additionally, there are some deletions due to some items becoming obsolete over the years or reclassified in new headings.

The tariff will be uploaded to the ASYCUDA World System while the printed version will be available at the Government Printers at the Botanical Gardens.

The Customs Division stands ready to assist where possible and hopes that the transition will be a seamless one as we work towards serving you better.
